Basketball Recap: Johnson's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Johnson was feeling good fresh off their 103-69 takedown of Washington Tech last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Johnson Governors took an 84-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Como Park Cougars on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Governors came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Cougars are ranked 227th).

With the loss, Johnson broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5. As for Como Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Johnson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-56 victory against Esko on the 18th. As for Como Park, they will welcome Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harding knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Como Park likes a good challenge.
