Illinois C entered their tilt with Varsity Opponent on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-46 W against Varsity Opponent. The Crusaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Illinois C, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Steven Smith, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Max Wechter.

One reason for the win was Illinois C's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Illinois C now has a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Illinois C will take on Osceola Grace Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The match will give the Crusaders their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they have already played their next contest, a 54-0 defeat against Tri-State Crusaders on the 20th.
