Flag Football Recap: Thomas Jefferson Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Thomas Jefferson's offense. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Manual Thunderbolts. The Spartans lost against the Thunderbolts in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 15-0 score last time.

Izzy Duran threw for 54 yards on eight of 16 attempts. Sarah Mohamed was her top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Sloane Straayer rushed for 38 yards.

Manual found their leader in sophomore Caylei Walker, who picked up 53 receiving yards and one TD, and also threw for 70 yards and three touchdowns. Another big playmaker for the Thunderbolts was Lelani Mack, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Thomas Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Manual, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.

Thomas Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manual, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-6 victory against George Washington on the 18th.
