Recap: Leetonia Bears vs. Wellsville Tigers
The Leetonia Bears suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Wellsville on the road and fell 61-31. Leetonia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wellsville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leetonia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Brock, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Leetonia bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Wellsville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Leetonia won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McKinley at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (McKinley is ranked 821st, while Leetonia is ranked 810th). As for Wellsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Toronto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
