Volleyball Recap: Northeast Early College Takes a Loss

Northeast Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bandera BULLDOGS. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

Bandera was led to victory by Sydney Moore and Lexis Moore. Sydney had eight kills, six digs, and three aces, while Lexis had nine assists and six aces. Those six aces gave Lexis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jessi Battle, who had four aces.

Northeast Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bandera, they moved to 6-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Northeast Early College will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McCallum at 6:30 p.m. on September 2. As for Bandera, they will square off against Young Women's Leadership Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
