Basketball Recap: Agua Fria Comes Up Short

Agua Fria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Peoria Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Owls of the 65-59 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Agua Fria lost, don't look at Micah Mccalla. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mccalla a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Tejada, who posted 11 points.

Agua Fria now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Peoria, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Agua Fria wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-46 loss against Estrella Foothills on the 23rd. Peoria has also already played their next game, a 70-49 defeat against Deer Valley on the 23rd.
