Laurel faced Havre in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Locomotives blew past the Blue Ponies 49-13. The Locomotives might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 28 points or more this season.

Laurel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Curtis Fox, who rushed for 187 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Fox has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Krew Hunter, who threw for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Laurel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Havre only rushed for 83.

Havre's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Griffin Terry, who threw for 182 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 48 yards. The Blue Ponies' leading receiver Aiden Moomey was Terry's top target yet again, picking up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Laurel's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points over those games. As for Havre, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

As of now, neither Laurel nor the Blue Ponies have any future games scheduled.
