Basketball Recap: Verona Takes a Loss

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Wheaton Bulldogs 72-29. The Wildcats lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 62-54 score last time.

Brody Bateman went supernova For Wheaton., dropping a double-double with 34 points and 17 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaman Kinnaman, who posted eight points and 13 rebounds.

Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wheaton, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Verona and Wheaton will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Wildcats see the court they'll take on Spokane at 6:00 p.m. on December 8. As for Wheaton, their break will end when they face Sheldon at 6:00 p.m. on December 8.
