Basketball Recap: Compass Charter Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for Compass Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars 63-44 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Aviators also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2020.

Compass Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Bennett led the charge by going 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points. That's the most points Bennett has posted since back in January of 2024. Kellen Walbuck was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

When it comes to explaining why Gem State Adventist Academy lost, don't look at Levi Smith. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Grimaldo, who earned ten points.

Compass Charter's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
