Football Game Preview: Whitney Wildcats vs. Franklin Wildcats + How To Watch

Whitney will host Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitney has given up an average of 35 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Whitney is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight games on Friday. They lost 38-17 to Jesuit. The Wildcats were down 31-10 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Although Whitney took the loss, they still got scores from Carson Floyd and Micah Hutcerson.

Franklin hadn't beaten Cosumnes Oaks on the road since October 11, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Wolfpack 48-14. Considering the Wildcats have won four games by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Whitney better keep an eye on Braylon Robinson. He was instrumental in Franklin's win, throwing for 212 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 43 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Franklin proved: they limited Cosumnes Oaks to a paltry 0.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Mason Towne for the heroic effort on defense: he. Franklin didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.7.

Franklin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caden Bowers and Cordell Steen. Bowers got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Whitney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
