Basketball Recap: Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 51-33 to the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats. The Knights were probably out for revenge after losing 74-47 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilbur-Creston-Keller to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brystal Neilsen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Neilsen has scored at least a third of Wilbur-Creston-Keller's points. Another player making a difference was Kaidyn Maioho, who posted ten points and five assists.

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame has already played their next contest, a 75-55 loss against Valley Christian on the 18th. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-35 victory against Almira-Coulee-Hartline on the 17th.
