McQueen's biggest task wasn't going to be easy if the Lancers were going to win the Class 4A Nevada State Football Championship Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium.

Stopping Bishop Gorman's Keola Antolin, the top running back in the Las Vegas area this season.

Well, Antolin did his thing, and the Gaels won their first state football crown since 1983.

Antolin rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns as Bishop Gorman ripped McQueen, 38-17.

Antolin had touchdown runs of  9, 90 and 27 yards as the Lancers had no answer for Bishop Gorman's biggest weapon.

In the opening half, Antolin had a pair of touchdown runs as the Gaels (14-0) raced to a 23-0 lead. After McQueen cut the margin to six, Antolin put the game away with a 27-yard run.

The Gaels' final points came on an 86-yard fumble return from Evan Palelei.

Bishop Gorman outrushed McQueen, 255-212.

On the defensive side, D.J. Ingram, Justin Chiasson, Alex Turner and Palelei combined for 22 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a score.
