On the hitting side, Coronado got a massive performance out of Bailey Goldberg, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four stolen bases gave Goldberg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisley Magdaleno, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Coronado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Centennial on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. The Mustangs have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Shadow Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Coronado has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Shadow Ridge, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Coronado's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Coronado might still be hurting after the 14-5 loss they got from Shadow Ridge in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
