Liberty County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Blountstown Tigers 11-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Cha'Miya Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Walker was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Sexton, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.
Liberty County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blountstown struck out seven times.
Blountstown's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.
Liberty County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Franklin County on the 25th. As for Blountstown, they have also already played their next game, a 16-6 win against Sneads on the 24th.
