Softball Preview: Kennedy Eagles vs. Washburn Millers

The Kennedy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Washburn Millers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Kennedy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Hopkins.

Emma Skibbie was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Skibbie was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Sheehan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emily Spencer, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, Washburn was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Minneapolis Southwest by a score of 3-2.

The win got Kennedy back to even at 8-8. As for Washburn, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
