Recap: Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers vs. York Prep Patriots
The Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 win over York Prep on Tuesday. The win was just what Legion Collegiate Academy needed coming off of a 85-50 defeat in their prior match.
Aiden Cherikos had a dynamite game for Legion Collegiate Academy, scoring 28 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Cherikos has scored at least 25% of Legion Collegiate Academy's points. Amir El was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Legion Collegiate Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for York Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legion Collegiate Academy will take on Community School of Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Community School of Davidson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday. As for York Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against York at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. York presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than York Prep in South Carolina (York is ranked 27th, while York Prep is ranked 126th).
