Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Hope Pirates vs. Lighthouse Christian Chargers

The Pleasant Hope Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Lighthouse Christian Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Pleasant Hope's offense. They came up short against Fordland on Thursday, falling 6-0. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Lighthouse Christian beat Seymour 8-5 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Paxton Bridges, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Elam, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pleasant Hope now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lighthouse Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
