Softball Recap: Wilder Takes a Loss

Wilder entered their game against Notus on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats came up short against the Pirates, falling 10-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 29, 2023, but that streak is no more.

M. Longest was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was A. Scott, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Wilder now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Notus, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Coincidentally, Wilder and Notus will both be playing Rimrock the next time they take the field. The Pirates will head out to face the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
