Basketball Game Preview: Newark Reds vs. Wilson Magnet Wildcats

The Newark Reds will head out to take on the Wilson Magnet Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Newark was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to Palmyra-Macedon.

Meanwhile, Wilson Magnet lost to Vertus on the road by a 71-56 margin on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newark has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Wilson Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Newark came up short against Wilson Magnet in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 77-68. Can Newark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
