Softball Recap: Walt Whitman Wildcats vs. Riverhead Blue Waves

Saturday just wasn't the day for Walt Whitman's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverhead Blue Waves on Saturday. Walt Whitman has not had much luck with Riverhead recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

For Riverhead's part, not much got past Mya Marelli, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Walt Whitman off the board. Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Riverhead saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Martinez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
