Softball Recap: Chico Panthers vs. Durham Trojans
In what's become a running theme this season, Chico gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They never let the Durham Trojans onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Chico needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.
Not much got past Sophia Babler, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Durham off the board. Babler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Caroline LaMoe and Addi Hosier did most of the damage at the plate: LaMoe went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Hosier scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Caitlin Ho was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
On Durham's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Owen, who went 1-for-2 with a double.
