North Arlington proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Park Ridge Owls 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since May 16, 2024.

Vincent Hinojosa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Arlington's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nico Stanzione, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Rohan Patel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Arlington's record now sits at 4-7. As for Park Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Arlington will venture away from home to square off against Rutherford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Park Ridge, they will head out to face off against Boonton at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
