Football Recap: Peoria Skates Past Poston Butte with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cactus, Peoria was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 43-14 victory over the Poston Butte Broncos. With the Panthers ahead 29-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Javon Bell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 141 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristian Zarate, who rushed for 115 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Poston Butte's loss came despite strong showings from Easton Filetti and Asher Kerstetter. Filetti rushed for 133 yards and one touchdown, while Kerstetter picked up 14 receiving yards and one TD.

Peoria's record is now 2-3. As for Poston Butte, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Peoria and Poston Butte will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Panthers are set to face off against their familiar foe St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Poston Butte will square off against rival Snowflake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
