The Pomperaug Panthers will head out to square off against the New Fairfield Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pomperaug will be strutting in after a victory while New Fairfield will be coming in after a defeat.

Pomperaug's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 39-0 win over Branford. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three games in a row.

Pomperaug's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dane Guinipero, who rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Dominic Creaco helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Pomperaug has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 278.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for New Fairfield, though, as they've been averaging only 97.3 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Pomperaug against New Fairfield when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 27-0 victory.
