Softball Recap: Rappahannock County Comes Up Short

Rappahannock County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clarke County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Rappahannock County fell just short of Clarke County by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Rappahannock County has struggled against Clarke County recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Brooklyn Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Alexys Pearre also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Rappahannock County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Clarke County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Coming up, Rappahannock County will face off against Manassas Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarke County, they will challenge James Wood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
