Baseball Recap: Lena-Winslow Victorious

Lena-Winslow posted their closest victory since May 3, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Riverton Hawks 6-5.

Aiden Wild made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Khayne Albright looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, Koby Kearns was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Weegens, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Lena-Winslow's victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Riverton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Lena-Winslow will challenge River Ridge/Scales Mound at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Riverton, they will take on Tri-City at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
