Softball Preview: Freedom Falcons vs. College Park Falcons
We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Freedom fell victim to Tracy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0.

Freedom got a good showing from Riley Moon, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Moon has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Freedom saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruby Cuen Camacho, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, College Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Cardinal Newman. Savannah Wilson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple.
Freedom now has a losing record of 1-2. As for College Park, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Freedom couldn't quite get it done against College Park in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as they fell 4-0. Can Freedom avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
