Basketball Recap: Cocoa Beach Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lukas Stevens and Andrew Hyde

Cocoa Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cocoa Tigers. If the Minutemen were looking for revenge after losing 51-46 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Cocoa Beach had strong showings from Andrew Hyde, who posted five points, and Lukas Stevens, who earned nine points. The dominant performance also gave Hyde a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Kaden Taival, who had three points.

Cocoa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Godinez, who put up eight points. Naterrious Atkins also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Cocoa Beach's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Cocoa, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-9.
