Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for El Toro

El Toro never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Beckman Patriots by a score of 3-0. While the Chargers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

El Toro got a great performance from Gavin Broesamle as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Broesamle has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, El Toro saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Merwin, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The victory was the fifth in a row for El Toro, bringing their record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Beckman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

El Toro will have a chance to go back-to-back against Beckman: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
