Surprise Valley takes loss despite strong efforts from Iina Nabahe-Henry and Casey Grove

Recap: Surprise Valley Hornets vs. Tulelake Honkers

The Surprise Valley Hornets suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-34 walloping at the hands of Tulelake. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Surprise Valley has suffered against Tulelake since December 10, 2019.

Surprise Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Casey Grove and Iina Nabahe-Henry. Grove scored 13 points along with four steals, while Nabahe-Henry dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 38.2% of Surprise Valley's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Surprise Valley's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-7. As for Tulelake, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13.

Surprise Valley will be playing at home against Big Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Kade Lemke and Grove. As for Tulelake, they will head out on the road to square off against Butte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
