Softball Recap: Barrington Takes Down Ranked West Warwick

Barrington faced West Warwick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Wizards 6-4. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Audrey Paxton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on 13 hits.

At the plate, Maya Etheridge was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Grace Fontaine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Barrington and bumps their season record up to 5-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for West Warwick, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Barrington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-11 draw against East Greenwich on the 6th. As for West Warwick, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Johnston on the 7th.
