Carter Bennett posted a new career-low in walks on Thursday. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mountain Heritage is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

Bennett and Mountain Heritage will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Draughn at 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. The Cougars haven't beaten the Wildcats recently, having gone 0-6 since April of 2022.
