Soccer Game Preview: Carmel Christian vs. Cannon

Carmel Christian will head out on the road to challenge Cannon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carmel Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

On Thursday, it was close, but Carmel Christian sidestepped Forsyth Country Day for a 2-1 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Carmel Christian's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Forsyth Country Day are ranked 239th).

Meanwhile, Charlotte Christian kept up with Cannon until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Cougars put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 4-1 victory. It was an even better day for Kinton Surface as he scored three goals for his team.

Carmel Christian now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Cannon, their win bumped their record up to 11-7-1.

Carmel Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Cannon in their previous meeting back in August, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carmel Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
