Recap: Conard Red Wolves vs. Manchester Red Hawks
On Wednesday, the Conard Red Wolves faced the Manchester Red Hawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Conard skirted past Manchester 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Manchester lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Derrick Sheets, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jayveon Robinson, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Conard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Conard on the road again on Tuesday and play against Northwest Catholic at 6:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Northwest Catholic is on a six-game streak of home wins, Conard a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Manchester will take on Windham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Windham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 671 points over their last ten matchups.
