Volleyball Recap: Lotus School For Excellence Comes Up Short

Lotus School For Excellence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Mitchell Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

While Lotus School For Excellence was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Mitchell's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-23.

Mitchell found their leader in sophomore Yamileth Villa Vargos, who had 44 assists and two aces.

Lotus School For Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Mitchell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Lotus School For Excellence nor Mitchell have any future games scheduled.
