Baseball Recap: GlenOak Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for GlenOak's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Jackson Polar Bears on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 29, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Bryson Peffer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, GlenOak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Zets, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Zets hit this season.

GlenOak's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Jackson, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

While GlenOak had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
