Del Norte has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Trinidad Miners at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Del Norte is ranked 184th, while Trinidad is ranked 196th).
Last Friday, Del Norte had just enough and edged Center out 14-12.
The critical scores for Del Norte came from Cody Worz and Colby Gandy.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Trinidad, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They took a serious blow against Centauri on Thursday, falling 63-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Del Norte's win lifted them to 2-5 while Trinidad's loss dropped them down to 0-7.
Everything went Del Norte's way against Trinidad in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Del Norte made off with a 40-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Del Norte since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
