The Iron Horses took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals on Saturday. It was the first time this season that the Iron Horses let down their fans at home.
Philip Simmons couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Lucy Beckham a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 30-28.
Despite the defeat, Philip Simmons had strong showings from Catherine Futch, who had ten digs, and Sophia Pheney, who had 11 assists and three digs.
Meanwhile, in Thursday's Canine Competition, Burke had to take the L. They lost 3-0 to Timberland on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
While Burke was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Timberland's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-12, 25-14.
Burke's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Philip Simmons, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-3.
