Despite the defeat, Philip Simmons had strong showings from Catherine Futch, who had ten digs, and Sophia Pheney, who had 11 assists and three digs.
Meanwhile, in Thursday's Canine Competition, Burke had to take the L. They lost 3-0 to Timberland on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
While Burke was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Timberland's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-12, 25-14.
Burke's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Philip Simmons, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-3.
