Basketball Recap: Lakeside Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lakeside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the Effingham County Rebels with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-41. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.

Effingham County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elyjah Doty, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Reese, who had four points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Effingham County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Lakeside has already played their next game, a 51-42 victory against Greenbrier on the 14th. As for Effingham County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-34 loss against Statesboro on the 11th.
