It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Alton can now relate to. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kenwood Broncos. The Redbirds' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Kenwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ariella Henigan, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 18 points and five steals. The contest was Henigan's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. London Walker George was another key player, shooting 75% from the field en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Alton's loss dropped their record down to 33-3. As for Kenwood, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 34-3.

Coming up, Alton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Loyola Academy at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Loyola Academy will roll in looking for their 29th straight win, something Alton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kenwood, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Fremd at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Kenwood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games.
