Baseball Recap: Northview Finds Home Field Redemption Against Springfield

There's no place like home for Northview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Springfield Blue Devils a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Colin Tomanski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Conner Draper, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Northview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Northview's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Springfield, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Coming up, Northview will head out to challenge New Albany at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Springfield, they will host Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Little Giants' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
