Lincoln hadn't beaten Florida State University High School on the road since February 23, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Seminoles. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Seminoles back in February, they had to take a 12-7 loss.
Gabbi Coulter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Lawless, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Lanie Woodson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Lawless wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Lincoln lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

As for Florida State University High School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will welcome Liberty County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
