Basketball Recap: Osborne Takes a Loss

Osborne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 69-57 to the Harrison Hoyas. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-50 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Osborne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore D?Qori Abanikanda posted eight points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. That's the most rebounds Abanikanda has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marcus Wise, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Osborne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Osborne's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Harrison, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Osborne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 87-58 defeat against McEachern on the 4th. Harrison has also already played their next match, a 68-56 loss against Pebblebrook on the 4th.
