The Newberry Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Interlachen Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newberry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Newberry took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Thursday.

Madison Rodgers was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Interlachen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Taylor, falling 13-4.

Interlachen saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dyana Valdez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Interlachen's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Newberry, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Interlachen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Newberry has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Interlachen, though, as they've been averaging 11 hits. Given Newberry's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.

Newberry took their win against Interlachen in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
