Basketball Recap: Paul Okpeaha's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Alak over Chaputnguak

Alak's tournament run continued when they took on Chaputnguak on Thursday. The matchup between the Alak Huskies and the Chaputnguak Shaman didn't end well, with the Alak Huskies falling 54-40.

Alak's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paul Okpeaha, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Ahmaogak, who scored 14 points.

Leading Chaputnguak to victory were Felagai Laumea and Trennon Abraham. Laumea had 22 points, while Abraham earned 16 points. Laumea's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Placid John, who put up six points.

Alak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chaputnguak, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Alak will host Kali on January 17th. Chaputnguak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
