Baseball Game Preview: St. Bernard's Central Catholic Bernardians vs. Trivium Eagles

The St. Bernard's Central Catholic Bernardians will take on the Trivium Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Bernard's Central Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, St. Bernard's Central Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Bromfield and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bernardians in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost six in a row.

Ethan Lewis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April.

Meanwhile, Trivium was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Keefe Tech, falling 14-4. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Eagles' highest-scoring contest to date.

St. Bernard's Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Trivium, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

St. Bernard's Central Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Trivium in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 4-1. Do the Bernardians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
