Softball Recap: Herron Has No Trouble Against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks

16 must be Herron's lucky number: they beat Indianapolis Crispus Attucks with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Achaeans blew past the Tigers 16-3. The Achaeans have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Taegan Ann Gadberry made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Gadberry was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Katherine Simcox was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Weaver, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Herron's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Herron will challenge Christel House at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, they will take on Providence Cristo Rey at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
