Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls vs. Aiken Falcons

The Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls will head out on the road to square off against the Aiken Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mt. Healthy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Goshen by a score of 82-70 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Aiken put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Taft with points to spare, taking the game 86-70. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Senators are ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Healthy's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Aiken, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0.

Things could have been worse for Mt. Healthy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-59 loss to Aiken in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Mt. Healthy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
