Basketball Recap: Duke Takes a Loss

Duke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 56-44 to the Canute Trojans. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Duke's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Canute, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duke will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Blair at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Blair knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Duke likes a good challenge. Canute will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Arnett at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
