Volleyball Recap: Elberta Takes a Loss

Elberta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Spanish Fort Toros. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Toros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Monday.

Spanish Fort was led to victory by Cailyn Boykin and Brooke Belarmino. Boykin had 13 assists and four digs, while Belarmino had 13 assists. Bryce Turner also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Elberta's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Spanish Fort, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Looking ahead, Elberta will be playing at home against Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spanish Fort, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against West Point on the 29th.
